Autumn is well and truly here. With its drizzle, warmer coats, umbrellas and cosy coffee dates, we’ve already felt the need to upgrade our wardrobes.
We attended the Autumn Launch Evening at Fenwick and followed Steven, Fashion Manager, across the store for a guide to AW17 trends.
Fluted sleeves are all the rage again. We’ve seen them grow in popularity over the past few seasons, and they’re back stronger than ever. A fluted sleeve works equally well on a plain shirt or printed jumpers, and we’ve seen them added to shorter sleeves and even dresses. Max Mara Poplin top with fluted sleeve:
As is typical for the Autumn season, Fenwick have seen a lot of luxurious dark reds come through this season. Mulberries and claret are making a strong statement across many different brands, so we can expect to see more of them in the coming weeks and months. Ted Baker Skater Dress:
Blues are also showing up in lots of different tones and shades. From deep navies to Klein blue, there’s a blue to suit your taste. Barbour has partnered with Liberty for another gorgeous collection, showcasing new shapes and prints that we’re already in love with. Barbour X Liberty Wax Jacket:
Pinks and cerise are also breaking tradition by making one-off appearances in collections. From Ted Baker to Paul Smith, we’ve seen collections featuring key pink items, and others incorporating pinks into patterns and colour schemes. So if you’re not brave enough to rock a total pink look, there’s plenty of choice in the accents department. It’s not for the faint-hearted; we love it! Paul Smith Coat:
Finally, Fenwick have welcomed plenty of cosy faux-fur items and animal prints with the addition of Marc Cain to their store offerings. We’re ready to enter the colder months wearing warm vests and coats, giving us all the right cosy vibes! Marc Cain display at Fenwick:
What have you been wearing this month? We’d love to know!
