Angela Horner – Chairperson
Associate Director at Browns Department Store in York specifically delivering Sales and Customer Service training and working on enhancing the customer experience in the stores. The store was founded by Angela’s Great, Great Grandfather Henry Rhodes Brown in 1896. Angela began her career at Browns in 1994 as Personnel Manager and later as Personnel Director for Browns’ four stores.
As the Chairperson of Fashion City York, she is passionate about York and fashion and is keen to engage with retailers, fashion students, Photographers, designers, museums…the more diversity the better!
Sam Lyth – Secretary
Partner at Red Kite services, and the “glue” that holds Fashion City York together. Red Kite services offers office administration, be it virtual administration or a physical office presence including filing, proofreading, report binding, website updates, database maintenance, mailshots and financial services support.
Her clients are owner managers of small businesses who don’t have resource in the areas above, and consultants who simply don’t have the time!
Sarah Sargent – Treasurer
In 2001, Sarah took herself to night school with her son to study Accountancy and once the family had left home, went to college and studied for her AAT qualification which she achieved in 2012. Now working for Boston House, she is the Treasurer for Fashion City York, and the perfect person to support in the growth of the brand, whilst never forgetting the bottom line!
Nicky Hayer – Marketing
MD of Nima, a marketing company based in York, and now head of marketing within Fashion City York.
After moving to York to work in Events and Sales within Bettys Café Tearooms, Nicky established Nima in 2015. A company that covers all things marketing and branding including Brand Story, Website Design, Marketing Strategy, PR and Social Media, and she’s been thrilled to bring these elements to the FCY project.
Ellen Davies – Events
Ellen Davies is the owner of LND Events; a company specialising in weddings, events and projects. She set this up in May 2015 after gaining several years of work experience on a variety of different events.
In August 2016 Ellen turned her business into a full time role after 11 years in senior management for a government department.
Ellen joined Fashion City York in October 2015 assisting in organising and running the fashion village back in April 2016 and looks forward to bringing this back even bigger and better for 2017.
